WORKSHOP
The seminar Initiation, Life and Death is intended for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of life's great transitions. It is designed for people who wish to support those facing death, accompany the dying with compassion, and gain profound personal insights into the process of dying and the mysteries of the world beyond. The shaman is familiar with these realms. They are the one who walks the threshold between worlds.
"What happens to us after death?"
"Where do we go?"
"Does anything remain once we have left our physical body behind?"
These are questions humanity has asked for countless generations. Shamans are no exception. They, too, have sought answers and ventured into these realms to discover them firsthand. Yet there are other questions that are equally important for those who remain among the living.
"Where is he or she now?"
"Is there still something I can say?"
"How are they where they are now?"
The shaman is a seeker. They seek power, wisdom, and healing. Again and again, they cross the boundaries we perceive as natural or self imposed, expanding the limits of human awareness and existence.
"I am a wanderer. I walk the paths and interpret the world, for that which truly exists reveals no face, and that which swiftly withdraws brings time toward twilight."
SEMINAR CONTENT
• The Shaman as Walker Between Worlds
• End of Life Companionship
• Working with Grief
• Ancestral Contact
• Guiding Souls
Together we will explore the cosmology of the Land of No Return and expand the boundaries of our own perception. We will investigate the apparent contradiction between the revered ancestor and the feared ghost or restless spirit, seeking to understand both within the broader shamanic worldview.
Participants will learn traditional approaches to guiding the souls of the deceased toward the worlds beyond. Another important focus of the seminar is compassionate end of life companionship and working with those who are grieving. Rituals and communication with the ancestors can become invaluable tools in this work.
As with all of our seminars, the emphasis lies on direct personal experience. We will work in pairs as well as within the circle as a whole, learning through practice, shared experience, and guided ritual.
This is an intensive and deeply transformative seminar that offers many initiatory experiences for the practicing shaman.

ORGANIZER
My name is Violetta Ellisdottir, and I first met Kai during his first workshop in Norway in 2022, where I attended as a participant. Since then, I have been a volunteer and have assisted in organising his workshops in Norway. That first workshop inspired me (or perhaps led me) to begin taking photos. And somehow the right person saw something in them and I was invited to take photos at a Heilung show. And then I went again and again and again. After organising two workshops with Kai at Mt. Olympus in 2026, I am delighted to now be organising this workshop in Norway.
